The Dixon 1240 Series is the ideal solution when a 90° elbow is too restrictive or does not fit due to machine geometry. This adapter connects a standard JIC hose to an SAE ORB (O-Ring Boss) port with a 45-degree output angle. This model features the Adjustable Washer and Lock Nut system. This allows the part to be threaded into the pump or valve port, rotated to the perfect hose orientation, and then locked in place by tightening the locknut, ensuring a leak-tight seal with the O-ring without relying on thread torque.
Advantages of the 45° Elbow (1240 Series):
-
Reduced Pressure Drop: The smooth 45° angle generates less turbulence and heat in the oil than a 90° elbow, improving the overall efficiency of the hydraulic system.
-
Ergonomic Installation: Facilitates hose routing in congested engines and valve banks, avoiding forced bends.
-
SAE ORB Safety: O-ring sealing offers superior resistance to vibration leaks compared to NPT tapered threads.
-
SAE 070320 Standard: Meets industry dimensional standards for guaranteed interchangeability.

Recommended Applications
-
Valve Blocks (Manifolds): For neatly routing pressure or return lines ("fanning out") using combinations of 45° and 90° elbows.
-
Hydraulic Cylinders: In side ports where the hose runs parallel to the cylinder, a 45° elbow is often the best option to prevent "bulges" in the hose.
-
Gear Pumps: Main pressure outlets.
