Replacement Flexible Insert (Spider) - 90A Urethane

The elastic insert (commonly known in workshops as a "spider" or "star") is the central wear component in the flexible coupling system of your power unit. This original replacement part from Hydro-Craft / Magnaloy is press-fitted between the two metal half-couplings to transmit torque from the motor to the hydraulic pump silently, smoothly, and 100% efficiently.

By completely eliminating "metal-to-metal" mechanical contact, this insert provides absolute electrical isolation between shafts and excellently absorbs micro-vibrations, water hammer, and small angular or parallel misalignments of the system. As the flexible link in the circuit, it is designed to be the component that wears out and sacrifices itself, saving the expensive shafts and bearings of your motors and pumps from overload.

Technical Material Specifications (Code U9):

• Material: Premium Urethane (Physically identifiable by its characteristic yellow color).

• Hardness: 90A Durometer (The ideal industrial balance: offers high rigidity to withstand heavy torsion without losing the flexibility needed to absorb impacts).

• Temperature Range: Safe and continuous operation from -34°C to +66°C (-30°F to +150°F).

• Superior Performance: Unlike common black rubber or neoprene spiders, yellow urethane offers up to 4 times greater mechanical durability, maximum tensile strength, and excellent immunity to hydraulic oil and grease splashes.

• 200 Series (M270): Designed for small 200 Series metal hubs (shaft diameters up to 1-1/8").

• 300 Series (M370): Designed for medium 300 Series metal hubs (shaft diameters up to 1-5/8").

• 400 Series (M470): Designed for large 400 Series metal hubs (shaft diameters up to 1-7/8").
