Hermetic Sealing and Installation Versatility
The Dixon CV Series is the ideal solution to prevent backflow in systems where total sealing is critical. Unlike metal-seated valves that can allow small leaks, the CV Series uses an NBR (Nitrile) Soft Seat. This ensures a "Bubble-tight Seal", guaranteeing that not a single drop of fluid returns through the pipe once the valve closes.
Its internal mechanism operates via a spring that pushes the closing disc. This offers two major advantages:
-
Universal Installation: It can be installed in vertical (upward or downward flow) or horizontal pipes, as it does not rely on gravity.
-
Quick Closing: The spring closes the valve immediately when flow stops, helping to reduce "water hammer."
Key Technical Features:
-
Spring-Actuated: Very low cracking pressure of only 0.50 PSI, allowing flow with minimal resistance.
-
NBR Seat: Elastic material that absorbs small particles and ensures total hermeticity, ideal for water and air.
-
Optimized Flow Design: Internal profile designed to minimize pressure drop when the valve is fully open.
-
Pressure Range:
-
Sizes from 1/2" to 2": Withstand 400 PSI WOG.
-
Sizes from 3" to 4": Withstand 175 PSI WOG.
